As other reviews have mentioned, there is a smell. It's not noticeable though. I could only smell it when I on my hands and it went away with a little washing. Id just recommend a wipe down when you get them. Otherwise really well made for plastic plates. I got 30 on sale. It's easy to assemble. They are adjustable dumbbells so they are large. Which could be annoying for some. But they're worth the price

These are brilliant for the price. Spent many of my younger years in the gym. Harder to make time for it in mid-life with kids etc, and These days i do a number of circuits at home instead. These paired with a bench have enabled me to step things right back up. They're great quality and ample weight for any athletic man, particularly when paired with resistance bands and/or push ups etc. Highly recommend.

You know, if money and space was not an issue, I would purchase myself a full set of individual hexagon dumbbells (the ones made from cast iron and rubber-coated). However, such a complete set would run into many hundreds of pounds. In contrast, this pair of plastic-coated ‘concrete’ dumbbells are a brilliant alternative - and they’ve really impressed me with their quality. You can purchase them in configurations of 15Kg, 20Kg, 25Kg or 30kg (those are the TOTAL weights of each PAIR - so a 15Kg set gives you a max of 2x 7.5Kg dumbbells). I opted for the 30Kg set, and this is the weight I would advise because you can make up dumbbells that are light enough to do the easier exercises like shoulder flys, bicep curls, and tricep skull crushers, or pack on the heavier weights and hit the chest, back, quads and hamstrings. During my workouts with these dumbbells, I found that it was easy to slide the discs on and off and the spinlocks kept the weights firmly in position. In addition, the textured surface of the plastic-coated handles offers an excellent grip. Out of interest, I accurately weighed each disc and found that they were just slightly under the stated weight - though not enough to worry about, in that regard it’s always good practice to alternate your dumbbells (left to right/right to left) after each set so that you can be assured each body part is equally exercised (my free tip to you!). Helpfully, each disc is marked up with the appropriate kilo weight on one side, and the equivalent pound weight on the other (for you old school types). Overall, I can’t really fault these dumbbells - which is why I have no hesitation in recommending them. 👍

Arrived quickly. Appear well made. No obvious issues. Also agree with other reviews about the strange chemical smell..whatever it is transfers onto your hands/palms which you can feel when you rub your fingers/hands together. I wiped the set well with a warm cloth and kitchen detergent which removed whatever it was.

Did not have any smell issues. Mostly using the 2.5 kg weights to make 5 kg dumbbells as pictured. Very bulky and needs a space to keep all the weight plates but great for the price. Initially received a flawed bar but after messaging the seller, they sent a replacement in a couple of days. Very impressed with the customer service.
